Preeclampsia

Friday I went in for a normal appt. And told my doctor about some swelling. Dr thought that the swelling was a little abnormal and that there was a little too much protein in my urine and sent me to L&D. After a few hours NST I was sent home to do a 24 hour urine catch and told to return to the hospital Saturday evening. Results from the second NST Sat evening and the 24 hour urine collection resulted in a diagnosis of preeclampsia. I also had a few higher but not crazy high blood pressure readings. Since then I have had so many appointments. I have 2 NSTs a week, 1 ultrasound, and 1 normal appt. This morning they took me off of work and I'm scheduled to be induced as of May 29th!!!! It has been a whirlwind. I honestly don't know how to feel. Luckily baby is doing wonderfully and as long as my blood pressure doesn't keep rising I should be able to make it to 37 weeks. I guess I learned that even if you think it's a "normal" pregnancy symptom you should bring it up to your doctor. Also it is now really time to make sure we are ready for baby!
