What is breakthrough bleeding?

I’ve been on the pill for two weeks and I’ve been bleeding a little bit for the past two days. Not enough to use a tampon, but it’s there when I wipe? Is that implantation? My period is due in 17 days.

If u unprotected sex before starting the pills or during the first week of being on the pills (unless u started them during ur period), then it could be implantation bleeding, meaning pregnancy. Otherwise, it would be breakthrough bleeding from starting the pills. It can take 3-6 months for ur body to adjust to being on (or off) birth control, so irregularities with bleeding/spotting & other side effects are normal during that time.
