False Negative?

Am I testing too early? Hubby and I started to TTC, he did the deed 4 days leading up to ovulation and ovulation day as well as the day after. I’m not technically late. AF due 13 of May. I’m having sore and heavy breast, mild cramping (my pms cramps normally are more intense), back pain, I’m sleeping like crazy now and I’m nauseous and can’t finish a meal. I’ve taken 2 dollars store tests. One super early and one today and they were both BFN. Should I wait until after I’m officially late to test?
