Do you have to sterilize bottles after every use?

I think it depends on where you live. In some countries parents are told that it has to be done. I’m in the US and my doctor told me I could if I wanted to but didn’t have to.

I sterilized everything before the first use but then my lactation consultant told me it didn’t really need to be done. The way she put it is my breasts aren’t sterile and neither is baby so soap and water is just fine!

I sterilize before the first use and then hand wash. Occasionally I’ll put them in the dishwasher. I feel like sterilizing after every use doesn’t really help to build immunities
