Depo experiences

Can i ask what peoples experience of the depo are please. How long did it take to get af back? I had my last depo 7th Dec 2018 so it was due again 1st March but I chose not to get it. I had been on depo 5 years+. I got af 19days after it was due then spotting and a short af the month after. I am waiting to see if it returns again this month. I have had sore boobs and headache almost daily but I am not pregnant. I am starting to do daily opk tests to see if I am ovulating but am not sure if I will be so soon. What are you experiences please?
