Yes, I just tell her hands off because normally it's when there is pee or poo or I redirect by asking her to count her toes or something.

If my daughter's hands are dirty I tell her not to touch her labia with dirty hands. If they're clean, pretty much just in the bathtub, I let her explore. If she starts to do it in public, I'll just talk to her about what's appropriate in public and what's not.

Haha, yes - just last night in the bath, I started to drain the water and my son was just looking down at his penis as it kind of floated in the water. He was just peering down intently then slowly looked up with a big smile on his face and said “Pee pee!” Followed by a lot of giggling. 
It was very entertaining. He’s fully aware of it - but we just kind of enforce that each person has their own ‘pee pee’ (we can get into technical terms later), it is yours alone, and that it’s not for anybody else to touch.

Sounds like the issue is him taking his diaper off to play in his poop. I wish I had some advice on that. I agree with everyone else, him touching his little weenie is no biggy. My son does it too

Yes, but I don't treat it as awkward even if I feel odd. I just say something like, that's your penis, and then ask him to point to a different body part like his nose or belly button. The more awkward bit is that he's discovered that I have boobs and pokes them randomly in public. 😂

If she’s clean, it’s fine and normal for her to check out her body parts, so I don’t worry about it. She’s normally clothed in public 😂 and she doesn’t really undress herself so it’s not a big deal. If your kid is taking their clothes off in weird places to play with themselves, I could see how that’d be annoying, but if you can just try to get them interested in something else, don’t make a big deal about it. It doesn’t become a problem until much later when kids should have a grasp on what’s socially acceptable, it’s super normal for all genders to play with their genitals.
