my parents and most of my family are very conservative. Our relationship has been strained for the past 6 months or so ago due to them not respecting boundaries and freaking out when my fiancé and I got engaged in February. We’ve talked maybe once since then. It’s important to hopefully have a good relationship with my family one day, but a lot of damage has been done. We were hoping to be on semi good terms at least before the wedding next year, but last week I found out I was pregnant. I feel like I should tell them before they find out from someone else/see a picture/etc, but with our strained relationship I’m not really sure what to say.

We were planning on getting together with them this weekend for coffee or lunch but it’s already extremely uncomfortable for me- any ideas?
