Is it worth paying for 3D ultrasound?

So I scheduled an appt on the 17th to get 3D ultrasound of my baby.. Its gonna be like 120$ plus the gas money to drive an hour there and back to the place.. I’m starting to second guess because I have so many bills and so many things to pay for coming up now that i’m literally 2 months away from my due date. I have some money saved up but not a whole lot. I really wanted pictures of her face and I was told by my doctors that they needed to get pics of her face for record for the full anatomy scan which was 9 weeks ago and they have not done another ultrasound since and I was told that my doctor will be doing at least 1 more ultrasound before my due date... but now i’m being told that I will not get an ultrasound unless it’s medically necessary. I have my next appt on the 20th this month. Do I wait and see if maybe they give me an ultrasound at the appt or do I just ho ahead and pay for the 3D scans on the 17th?! Its a 120$ to get the 3D scans and i’m only getting 2 pictures out of it. Thats what the package is. 2 freaking pictures for 120$.. I mean cmon. Is that really worth it? I’ll see my babygirl in 2 months or less!!! I dont know if these 3D pictures of her face will be worth the money!!! What do you think? Is it worth it for memories and comparing them to future babies scans or do I just cancel and save the money and prepare to actually see her. Ugh. I wanted them so bad for so long and now i’m second guessing. HELP!! PLEASE ANY ADVICE!!!

I wouldnt pay for that, especially if I didnt have an extra $120 to throw away.  Your OB’s office cant just turn it on to 3D for you? Mine does it all the time - they have the capability to. I would not go and pay for a boutique ultrasound

Shop around. My local place was 60$ for the first early gender scan and then 35$ for any additional. We got a dvd of the whole session along with 2-3 photos each time. I’ve never seen prices that good anywhere else though.

It seems to me like you already know what you want to do, haha. I wouldn't pay that money and drove that far for two pictures, but that's just me!

I got over 80 pictures of my son 
A dvd 
10 black and white copies
And a few of the colored 3d
We paid 130 and was well worth it. 
If you have bills that need to be paid or you think the $$ could go towards something else then go with your gut.

my doctor always did a 4D scan at 35 weeks for all three of my kids. they do scans at like 12 weeks, 20 weeks & 35 weeks at my office other than the medically necessary ones id wait & check with your doctor first bc $120 is a bit much, ive paid for 4D ones & only paid $40

I say skip it. I paid $110 and couldn’t even get a good picture. I would say if the money was extra and not a burden to spend, spend it. But if things are right, not worth it. She’ll be here soon enough.

I wouldn’t pay that amount. The ones in my area cost between $65 and 90. There’s also no guarantee that you’ll get a good view of her face...it all depends on the baby’s position, amount of fluid around the face, location of the placenta, etc. Use the money for bills or other expenses and the baby will be here before you know it!

Check on Groupon if you have that in the US. I got a 3D scan for £50 with 2 pics and a DVD. I personally wouldn't  spend $120 on a scan and 2 pics.
