Are hospital pictures worth it?

So the “digital download” pictures at my hospital are $150.00.  Is this worth it? Or should I just get pictures taken by a friend for cheaper?

We opted to have a newborn shoot when ours was a week old. It included our entire family, my other child, etc. 
It was more expensive but worth every penny. 
They were edited and BEAUTIFUL! Plus, I get induced, so when I’ve just delivered I’m all puffy and need time to get rid of that fluid. I actually looked nice in the newborn pics. All our hospital pics I look like a bloated raccoon 😂 hence why I take those myself.

I am honestly a little disappointed with the hospital pics. The camera is nice but they don’t do any editing at all, so it emphasizes EVERY skin imperfection and my baby looked more blotchy in the photos than in real life. Not worth it if you can do it yourself or have a friend do them, but it’s better than nothing.

They were definitely worth it for us. We paid $270 and got a lot of prints plus a disc and a photo book. This time around I am going to do our own though just because I know what I'm doing now lol

We spent $230 on ours and got some prints. They did come out since. But my husband will be doing them this time.

Honestly, I took photos with my iPhone and came out just as nice or better then the camera ones lol. (They took the photos but I didn’t like them 🤷🏻‍♀️ so didn’t have to pay)
