Second IUD
So I got my second IUD yesterday (skyla) and I just wanted to say a little bit about my experience for anyone who may be getting another one and wondering what it might be like. Well I was nervous because I remembered the pain of the first one but I took some ibuprofen about an hour before the appointment and hoped for the best. The first thing they had to do was remove my old one and mine was being complicated. They couldn't reach the strings so the doctor used the cervical clamp, which hurts and had wait for the ultrasound tech to get there so they could see the IUD. The doctor got it and pulled it out and that hurt pretty bad but only for a moment. Next they measured my uterus and that made me say ouch, but the ultrasound tech was so nice and gave me her hand to hold. Then the doctor inserted the IUD and that was some intense pain but once they were done it was like the pain was completely gone. I only had a couple of uncomfortable cramps but nothing like the first time and I'm still bleeding a little bit, but nothing heavy. All in all, it wasn't as bad as the first time especially since my body was already used to it being there.
