Perception

This is a meme my friends husband tagged her in. So she's very upset over it and of course, I'm right there with OMG, that is really rude. Then I went back and read it again and noticed the tag in the bottom left hand of the picture and had an "aha" moment. So now I can see how he thought it was funny and was genuinely confused by why she thought it was rude and insensitive.

A couple things I find interesting are of course, how my initial reaction changed, and accepted that oh, it was supposed to be funny because dads need a break to collect themselves before coming inside. (Would love to hear different thoughts on this, is this toxic by rationalizing it, is it just a dad wanting a few minutes to himself, would this be taken differently if it was a mom instead, etc...). The other interesting thing my friend pointed out is if you feel like you need to collect yourself before coming in, then do you really want to be there?
