Soonest I can find out gender?

Im currently 6 weeks, my sister is flying from across the country in a month and staying for 2 weeks. Ill be 10 weeks when she arrives, I was hoping to do a small gender reveal with my husband and her before she leaves. Would this be possible?

You could request a blood test (genetic testing but also tells gender) from your doctor starting at 9 weeks I believe, only takes a week for results but your insurance may not cover it so you’d have to pay out of pocket. Or you could look up sneak peek, a website where you either send your blood in or go to a lab to get it drawn, but have to make sure it’s not contaminated with anyone else’s DNA.

My doctor wouldn’t even do the bloodwork for the genetic testing until 10 weeks because doing so beforehand can result in not enough fetal dna for results so you have to retake it. Some doctors will do the test at 9 weeks (definitely no earlier) but when then it can take 2 weeks to come back and if your insurance doesn’t cover it (which MOST wont unless you’re over 30 or high risk for a special needs baby) then you could be paying in the thousands. When I called to see how much bloodwork would cost for me it would have been $1400. 100% too early for an ultrasound though.

Pretty sure the gender is noticeable between 18-20weeks.. 10 weeks you're still higher risk of miscarriage and barely starting prenatal care.....
