Had it so many times that it doesnt even scare me anymore, even befriended the shadow figure in the corner of my room, jk he still creeps me out sometimes 😓

Once. I ended up just falling back to sleep instead of freaking out 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have it frequent especially in new places like hotels, I freeze but I try to hyperventilate in my sleep to wake myself up which usually wakes up my SO who helps me get out of it, sometimes I can fall back asleep with no problems, other times I can fall right back into it so I’ll just stay awake to avoid it, last night I actually woke up and kept telling my SO that we were not in our room and kept asking why we were there and not in our room but in a full on panick the mind does some freaky things!!!

Learn to prevent it but not laying flat on my back often and if I do, CROSS YOUR LEGS! It helped me. Last year I had it twice and I didn’t like it. I know not to be so freaked out but it’s still disturbing.

I’m not sure if this counts, but I remember this experience very clearly. I was lying face down in my pillow. I woke up because I was having trouble breathing, but I literally could not move! I was suffocating and was helpless. My mind raced with thoughts like “so this is how it ends?” It took me a minute but somehow I snapped out of it and was able to move, and when I did, I gasped for air and cried. 
Terrifying. Only happened once. 
Hope I never experience something like that again🆘

I have it like once or twice a year

Last month I woke up to the sound of running water in my apartment, toilet flushing sink running right next to my bedroom. My husband was next to me so I began freaking out because no one else should have been in my apartment. At first I thought there is someone in my apartment,  someone broke in. I went to wake my husband up but I couldn't move to nudge him, it felt like my body weighed a ton. So I tried to call his name and tell him to wake up but all that came out was mumbles and nonsensical groans until I drifted back to sleep

It’s only happened a few times to me. It’s always a nightmare starting out and I know I’m sleeping/waking up and I’m purposely trying to move to wake up more. I can few myself panicking and breathing heavier just before I’m able to move.

I’m not sure if I’ve had actual sleep paralysis. But I had a dream the other night that I did. In my dream I was sleeping but awake and couldn’t move my body. Felt like I was stuck in mud, worst dream.
