When it is appropriate to buy baby stuff?

My husband and I have a miscarriage at 5w2d in February and I’m currently 8wks tomorrow and due January 2nd. 
I’m not trying to buy a crib right this second or anything lol but I was just wondering for those ladies who are already mamas, when did you find it was time to finally start buying stuff? Even the little things? I don’t want time to fly by and then not be prepared! 😁
