My little isn’t gaining weight. He will be three months on Saturday and only weighs 9 lbs. he weighed 9 pounds at his two month check leading to a three month weight check. He was exclusively nursing 7-8 times a day (did get two four ounce bottles of pumped while I have been at work) I pump and work and get between 3-4 ounces each pump.

Doctor says it’s not a volume concern it’s most likely a calorie concern. Is the milk I’m producing high enough in calories, is he not properly absorbing the calories or is he burning through them too quick?

In hope for answers we did some blood work a urine sample and are trying a week on formula and weight checking again.

It’s been sad and frustrating. Especially when know one understands why I’m sad and frustrated saying it’s alright now he will eat “more” (not struggling with low supply)
