Best advice for moving on?
Hi ladies. So my ex and I broke up just over two months ago. We dated for a year and a half. It was a mutual breakup, however, when it was all said and done, I wanted him back, but he didn’t feel the same.
I was absolutely heartbroken for the first few weeks, and since then, I don’t feel like I’ve made much progress in moving on. I’ve unfollowed him on all social media so I don’t see his pictures or posts. All other reminders (such as pictures) have been taken down too. However, I catch myself thinking about him every day. I wonder how he’s doing, and I genuinely just miss him.
He was my very best friend. I kind of abandoned my friends during our relationship. Realizing that has been important for me, and definitely something I want to avoid in my next relationship. So while I have been able to talk to some friends to distract myself, it doesn’t even come close to filling the void I feel from losing him. My mom has been amazing, and there for me 100%, but I still feel that void.
When we broke up, he told me we could be friends and if it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be—maybe we’d get back together in the future. However, he was extremely rude and unfriendly to me after the break up. We haven’t spoken in a month now. I don’t want to try since it seems obvious he wants nothing to do with me.
Going through this has allowed me to see that this relationship wasn’t supposed to work out. Yet, realizing that doesn’t make me feel better. Like I said, I am missing his presence in my life, and I have not been able to fill it. I have been out and about doing things since we broke up, keeping myself busy. But when I have down time, I think about him. Since it’s been over two months now, I am feeling frustrated with the process. I know it takes time, but I would love any advice or tips that helped you all get over your break ups. I’ve read plenty of articles on Google, so any unique or unconventional advice is definitely welcome. Thank you 💕
