VBAC or repeat C section

So I am so torn on if I want to attempt a VBAC. First baby was breech, which was why I had a csection about 3 years ago. I would love to avoid surgery and the longer recovery but I’m also so nervous of the risks associated with VBACs. Mostly uterine rupture, which although the chance is only 1% you could bleed out in 10 minutes if it happens. The thought of doing anything that could harm my baby or myself like that scares me. But I know there are risks with a csection too. So freaking torn. What is everyone who has been in this position doing? As of now I have a c section scheduled for 39 weeks but my dr has made it clear if I want to push it back and see if I go into labor I can.
