How long was your 20 weeks scan ?

I was in and it took her 1 hour on ultrasound. She said baby kept moving.. but idk I could see clearly what she was taking of and it all look pretty normal to me.. moved yes but not enough to not catch photo she took so many!!! 
Is this normal??? Because my firsts I was there for a while but not an hour on the ultrasound machine. 
How long did your appointment last ???

Mine took about 45 minutes. Its pretty standard. They have so much to look for at that scan that it takes a while and if the baby isn’t positioned right, they will try and wait or move you to get the right angle. They couldn’t see my baby’s kidneys,
Heart, or spine well at my 20 week so I had to go back 4 weeks later and get another done. Which again took 45 minutes. I’d rather them take their time and get what they need then having to come back a gazillion times.

My first was just over an hour. He was so still they had a hard time moving him for the right photos. 
My second they got everything in an hour except the heart so I had to go back. 
My third moved so much they only got one femur measurement in an hour so I had to go the following week.

With my daughter it was maybe 15 minutes. But my daughter just cooperated and they were able to see everything fine. I had other ultrasounds (high risk for other reasons) that took longer because she wouldn’t cooperate. Your tech may have just been newer or was having a hard time getting the perfect position for a shot

I was in mine for around 40 mins but she couldn’t do it all as baby was not playing ball so I had to go back a week later to try and complete it xx

Mine took about an hour with both as they were movers. They have to get clear and defined pictures of some major organs to ensure the health and safety of your baby. My last son was still enough where we could see his heart but not still enough that she could get detailed pictures of the different sections of his heart. I actually had to come back and have another ultrasound to ensure his heart was okay. I’m thankful she took the extra time and effort to check my baby for any major defects so we could be medically prepared at his birth.

My first one with my son lasted about 30/35 minutes because he was asleep most of the appointment. With my current pregnancy, baby was mostly still until the very end of the appointment when the tech was trying to get clear pictures of baby’s 4 heart chambers. I had to lay in different positions several times to get baby to move into a better position for measurements and pictures and at one point the tech suggested I drink some OJ and do some jumping jacks if Baby didn’t cooperate in the next few minutes. 😂 Thankfully, baby sat still for a few moments after that and she was able to get all the measurements and pictures she needed clearly! Took just a little over and hour for us!
