Do you think it's weird to plan your own baby shower?

For my son my family planned my baby shower. But I am now having a girl and no one has said anything about a baby shower except for my sister in law, but I want a baby shower just for small girly stuff and or diapers. Is it weird if I plan everything myself? I'm not like uptight and like "Oh people need to plan my baby shower" I'm just trying to get things rolling I guess. Let me know your input lol..thanks

From my own experience, it’s not super common to have a shower for a second child. If you wanted to throw a “sprinkle” where it’s more about celebrating with family rather than expecting gifts, that’s probably fine. They just might not think you’re expecting one for a second baby.

Im doing my baby shower at my house. My sister and my mom are helping but Im basically also throwing it. I thought it would be easier that way honestly... Lol

I decided not too. I’m having my first boy. My sis in law mentioned a baby shower but if I’m paying for everything it’ll start getting costly and I might as well just spend it on the baby. We have completely started over though. We had zero baby stuff.

I plan to be involved in planning mine lol. It doesn’t bother me. My family and best friend just threw me a bridal shower last year so I don’t want them to feel obligated to do the whole baby shower too now.

I basically did. My SIL was the person to RSVP to and mailed the invites but I basically did everything. The baby shower is about celebrating and seeing friends and family. I didn’t want my SIL who makes significantly less money than us incur that cost or need to coordinate covering the cost with other family members. Did we spend more than the value of the gifts we got? Maybe but that wasn’t the point for us so I was happy to order the food, tent the tables, buy the invitations, etc.
