When was your last ultrasound?

I am currently 29 weeks and 5 days, my last ultrasound I was at 23 weeks and 5 days. My baby was showing face up with his back turned so his face was towards my spine I didn’t really get to see him. During my last visit 2 weeks ago I asked when my last ultrasound would be and my nurse practitioner said that I will not have another ultrasound unless they are alarmed by something. I’m confused because I thought you get one last ultrasound before you give birth to check the weight and position of the child? This is my first baby so maybe Ive just been misinformed? Still I’m upset because I saw him at the middle of my pregnancy, and I didn’t know that would be my last time seeing him. But I’m curious, is this normal?

It’s totally normal unless they feel you’re measuring too big or too small.

Only if something is off. Like you’re measuring a few weeks off. 
Most 3rd trimester scans are for medical reasons. 
Last one for me was at 30w and will have another on Tuesday at 34w

I only had one at 30 weeks because baby kidneys weren’t developing correctly.. but I wouldn’t of got another if it wasn’t for that

Normally, my dr does 3.. 7-8wks, 12 wks, 20 wks. Thats it. Due to cord and placenta issues I’ve had them at 24, 28, 32 wks and have another coming up in a week (34).. c section at 37 wks. Might have 1 more inbetween 34-37, depending

With my 4 previous pregnancies I only have two, a viability scan and then the anatomy scan. 
With my history and already having blood pressure issues with this pregnancy,  at 32 weeks they’ll start doing weekly scans to check on baby and placenta.

You usually only get two ultrasound unless there's some concerns, the first is to check to make sure there's a heart beat and the second is to see the gender and measure the baby. 
I am 28 weeks and will be getting two more ultrasounds, but only because they're concern about my placenta. 
I only got to see my first baby 2 times before he was born

Only if ur doctor feel it’s necessary! I’ll be getting another one at 30 weeks because of my age dr said once over 35 they take extra precautions. I also had multiple US with my son because he was measuring small.

That sounds right. My last ultrasound with my son was at 22 weeks (late anatomy scan) I only got 2 total. That’s just what the office routine is and what insurance covers. 
I didn’t ‘need’ a growth scan. So I didn’t get it
