Growth scan?

I see so many women on here saying how much their baby weighs in these last weeks before birth. What is your doctor doing to find out the weight. I asked mine and he said no.. There's nothing he can do to measure my babys weight. I'm so confused.. Is my dr just lazy or whats going on here? I'm likely to have my baby early so I just wanted to know so I have an idea of how developed he will be if born soon.

My doctor feels my baby in my stomach and is making guesses based on that and her experience. Your doctor should be able to give you an educated guess based on his experience.

I’m getting a growth scan at 37 weeks because that’s my doctors preference and also wants check the position of the baby. I really wasn’t expecting one after 20 weeks

I've had monthly ultrasounds where they measured the baby to find out weight. Other then that I dont think they can tell the babies size

My OB literally said "your baby is between not big and not small" 🤔 like what the heck does that mean?!

Have a history of babies with small birth weight. So I’ve been getting ultrasounds here and there to check on baby.

Because I’m at risk of having small babies, I have to have multiple growth scans to check baby is growing, they estimated today that at 35 weeks my cherub is weighing about 5lbs 7

I have GD, so they need to do growth scans. My first pregnancy I only had 2 ultrasounds total, and my second I had several for other reasons but they never mentioned baby size. It seems to depend on the doctor. If I had no complications at all then I only would have had the dating and 20 week, like my first.

Not lazy! It’s really hard to tell how big the baby is. All the weights you’ve read are estimates. I have no idea how big baby is and I gotta say, I prefer it that way. It’ll just stress me out knowing I’ve gotta push a big baby out, so I’m just going to pretend they’re petite. 😂

I just had a growth scan yesterday for my 37 week appointment and the tech was amazing and super informative. She told me that it’s not 100% accurate but can give a fairly good estimate of size
