I’m a FTM and I have been planning on avoiding using pain medications at all during labor for this entire pregnancy. However, I have developed blood pressure that hovers the line for gestational hypertension and severe edema. My OB does not feel comfortable having me wait until my due date for the baby to come so I will be induced on Tuesday. I’ll be 39+1. She doesn’t do membrane sweeps and plans on starting me immediately on Pitocin then breaking my water. I’m scared that I won’t be able to handle the pain from artificial contractions. I’ve read up on the Bradley method and done some reading on hypnobirthing. Have any of you been induced and been able to go pain med free? What were your experiences?
