so my boyfriend and I have been together 8 months and it’s great, his parents are cool us being interracial was never weird or an issue with them like his mom is so sweet and fun but I was always curious as to who they voted for, his dad kept a gun in the house so that was a hint, my bf told me a story about how his dad got a picture with trumps press secretary and was so happy then forced him to take a picture also. I asked a friend he’s close with and she said “uhm yeah i’m pretty sure both of his parents are trump supporters...” I was a little upset because that would’ve been nice to know considering my view on things instead of letting it sneak up on my when he told me his dad was running for mayor! I told him that my dad hates trump and cannot associate with people who strongly support him and that when he finds out that his dad falls under that category things won’t end well. I just don’t know how to react like I hate the fact he’s not completely transparent about things I should know and leaves me to find out myself, last minute.
