Question about ear piercing?

How old do you think a baby should be when getting ears pierced ? 
I know most mommies with girls get it done but what about you mommies with boys are you going to get your sons ears pierced as well? Both or just the left one?
Where is the safest place to get this done?

I myself am against piercing babies ears. I think they should decide if they want them done or not when they are old enough to be able to clean them and understand how to take care of them. My daughter was 8 when we let her get them done. As far as where to get them done piercing guns at places like Claire’s or Walmart aren’t good, getting them done at a professional piercer is best (usually in a tattoo shop) they have experience with piercing kids ears.

I didn’t get my daughters pierced because I don’t think it’s my place 🤷‍♀️ if she wants it done when she’s older that’s fine but I want it to be her choice. I understand why moms want it done as infants so they don’t remember, and that’s good but I wouldn’t do it.

I dont think babies should have their ears pierced. I have a metal allergy and earrings are painful for me unless all parts are 100% gold and my parents wouldnt have known if they didnt wait until I was old enough to communicate that. 
I definitely dont think baby boys ears should he pierced either. Not all boys want that and should wait til their old enough to tell you they want one. 
As far as safest, tattoo parlor 100%.

My doctor said it’s best to wait until they’re four months old. My daughter was just slightly older than four months when we had hers done. She’s never had any problems with them.

I plan on getting my daughters ears pieced as soon as the doctor allows it 🙋‍♀️ I want here to be young enough that she doesnt mess with them and hoping as she becomes a toddler womt even notice them so they can heal properly. Definatley will NOT be going anywhere that uses a piercing gun, we will find a reputable tattoo and piercing shop. Dad is on the same page.

I was 13 whwn I got mine pierced and my husband was also a bit older, over 10 when he got his done. Then he was in his 20s when he gauged them (smaller than a pencil). So, since we are having a boy we will wait until he shows interest or asks. Even if we had a little girl I'd wait and see what she wanted.

Yeah I’ve had my first hole since I was 2 months same thing with both of my girls now and the baby when I give birth. As far as our boys, that’s a definite no. We get our ears pierced after our first round of shots. And they decide if they want a second hole like mommy. Family tradition here.
