I came out to my mom as bi a week or so ago and instead of the support I was hoping for, she essentially tried to talk me out of it and explain how I’m just going through a phase. I’m almost 18.

I mentioned to her why I was hesitant to come out (she said she would be sad if I was The Gay™️) and she said that “This is different, this isn’t you coming out”.

So that was mildly damaging and not at all what I expected. They aren’t homophobic at all so what the SHIT.
