SI Joint pain?

The past few days on my left side, low back (just next to my sacrum) I get a sharp pain. It definitely feels musculoskeletal, and occasionally shoots down my left leg. I am thinking it is my SI Joint. I have tried different positions, exercises, etc. Anyone with suggestions???

I’ve been experiencing something similar on my right side. I’m going to mention it to my doctor at my appointment this week but I have found the exercises in this video to relieve some pain! Maybe they will help you too. Best of luck!

I’m a Physical Therapist, and also suffer from occasional SI joint pain. You can get a quick adjustment from a chiropractor, but you can also get a referral for PT. There’s an adjustment the PT does that’s a little more gentle, and they can teach you to do it to yourself. Plus they can give you hip,  ore, and pelvis strengthening exercises to work on. It’s totally a common problem but easily fixable! It’s tough being pregnant and having al these lax ligaments though!

SI joint problems and sciatic problems have very similar symptoms but complete opposite treatments. Talk to a chiropractor before trying to fix it at home. A few years ago my sister had back problems and was diagnosed with sciatica. A month or so later I had the same symptoms and so she showed me all her stretches. I tried them and it kept getting worse and worse. Finally went to a chiropractor and it was my SI joint. He said I was just making it worse the whole time. I could barely walk by the time I went... it was horrible!

I’ve had this with both pregnancies. It sounds like sciatica. There is a nerve that runs from your back to your feet and during pregnancy it can become pinched due to change of positioning and swelling. I do yoga to help and it takes mine away. I know others who have been to a chiropractor. I hope you get some relief. It can be miserable.
