Dr. Didnt see me today..

Hi, ladies so I have a question for y'all. I live in Houston, Tx and my OB/GYN that I go to for this pregnancy has been, great so, far up until my appointment today. I had my 38 week check up today in the morning, well I get there and sign in, and I'm waiting to be called.. Well the nurse at the front desk calls my name so, I go up, there thinking something is wrong with my insurance.. Well no, she asks me if I have registered at the hospital yet? I told her no that I was gonna go this week so she tells me that I can't be seen at this appointment until I'm registered, the hospital where I'm gonna register at gives us registration cards with a number and they, use those as our ID cards until we give birth... So I need that card in order to be seen.. I'm just, wondering has this happened to anybody, else regardless of where you live. I have never had this happen to me before. I know some moms don't even register until they are in labor. I'm just frustrated that they refused to see me until I brought in that id card from being registered..
