Parole officer ?

Hiiii :) i dont know where to post this.. are any of you ladies parole officers or were parole officers? I havent told my new job yet im pregnant.
My first day is June 17th. I dont know when to tell them. Should i wait a little but then i want to be honest and tell my new supervisor from the start. The reason im asking if anyone is a parole officer is cause thats what my job will be, i am curious to know how anyone handled being pregnant while working that job?
Also, i wasnt sure where to exactly post this.

I think it’s important to be informed about your department and it’s policies. With that being said, it also depends on how far along you are too and your pregnancy.
Honestly, talk to your doctor about your concerns and your job requirements. Doctors are much more helpful now and can help you make a good decision for the safety of you and your baby. 
After talking with your doctor, let your boss know as soon as possible. They are hiring you and expecting you to do a job, so let them know ASAP.

I'm not a parole office but I do work with seriously mentally ill who have been found "not responsible of their crime due to mental defect", so essentially they have committed a crime while psychotic. Though they have worked their way through the mental health forensic system, they are not always stable in the community and I do many community based services, including home visits. I told my boss right away, even though technically I'm under no obligation to, I wanted her to be aware in case I seemed hesitant or even unwilling to take some risks I have in the past. Unfortunately with this being a new job you're starting, it makes it a little more difficult and complicated. Personally, I would try to communicate sooner rather than later because to be, baby takes priority. But I can understand wanting to start off on a good foot. I would feel it out once I was there, get a feel for your supervisor and then make a more informed decision. Good luck!

I told my boss at 5weeks because it was going so poorly that it effected my work. He was wonderfully considerate and told me to do whatever I needed to. Not all of my work is pregnancy compatible so we made some adjustments.

i am not a PO but can also answer this.
first off, is your pregnancy high risk?
if yes/no do you have any limitations according to your midwife/obgyn?
get those in document form and have them ready when you go tell your boss/supervisor upfront. i’d even call and set up an appointment before your starting date just so it’s noted.
i suggest being assertive enough that they know you are pregnant, you do/do not have any limitations and moreover that you are still determined to work, so long your pregnancy allows.
it’s up to you when you begin telling co workers but realistically it’s none of their business and i’d wait until after the safe zone (12 weeks) or even further if you’re not showing. it’s one of those things that gets around fast, lol. don’t let any of this hold you back though. i’ve been on my toes since i found out at 2 months pregnant, i’m now 6 months, and it has given me even more drive!
