Too many ultrasounds?

I’m reading some opinions on too many ultrasounds I’m only 11 weeks and 1 day and I have had 5 ultrasounds is that too much ? How many have you had ? I’m nervous now as I forget to take my prenatal vitamins a lot and I read that the heat can cause neural tube defects just like me not taking my vitamins as often as I should

Hi there! I’m an ultrasound technologist, every tech whose a pregnant has scanned there baby at least on a weekly basis, I know some who did it every chance possible. All their babies are fine :) all the techs before us did the same and they are all healthy. It’s just sound waves! I scan mine a lot too.  Pulse wave (which is when you can hear the babies heart beat on ultrasound) is actually not safe in early pregnancy. And many obs do this in their office routinely. NOT OK. But those babies too mostly end up just fine. Try not to stress .. you’re fine :)

I’ve had 5 and I’m 13 weeks going on 14 weeks

I’ve only had 1 ultrasound. That was when I first found out I was pregnant at 8 weeks & 2 days. I have another ultrasound on the 17th of this month. I’ll probably get as many as you because I’m high risk... I’ve had two miscarriages before this baby.

I’ve had one so far at 12w2d and have my second on Tuesday. With my last pregnancy I got extras at the end because of everything going on and baby was fine. Pretty sure we have been cut down to the bare minimum because of what insurance will pay for. My doctor even recommended I call before my one on Tuesday because some insurance will only pay for two your whole pregnancy. Luckily my insurance was willing to cover the ultrasound but won’t cover any blood work unless they find a reason to test.

That’s a lot for only 11wks. I had a lot with my son but only bc I’m older and he was aiming to be a big baby. Luckily he was only 8lbs.

No such thing as too many :) the more the merrier. I have had 2 and I’m 15weeks. 
Also it’s good to take your vitamins but a missed day here and there wont doom baby. My best friend didn’t know she was pregnant and didn’t take any for 5months. Baby was perfect. It just reduced the risk.

Your doctor wouldn’t have you do ultrasounds if it was too much. Everyone’s needs are different depending on your pregnancy. I’m 11 weeks and I’ve had 3. 2 from my fertility clinic and 1 from my first appointment with my OB. Now I won’t have one again until 18-20 weeks. Maybe set a daily reminder on your phone to take your vitamin until it becomes a stronger habit. We moms have a lot on our minds and it’s hard to remember everything. Don’t beat yourself up.
