It was extremely sad to see. And even sadder to think about because it is still so common, even today. It’s just the kind of thing that a lot of black men deal with and people of other races usually never know about it because it doesn’t happen in their households. My grandfather spent time in jail because a store got robbed and he “fit the description” which really just meant he was a black man. He had proof and everything that it wasn’t him but at the end of the day, all black men are the same to many people so it didn’t matter. It all comes down to how much worth is actually placed on black peoples lives in America. People of other races aren’t wrongly charged as often because police officers and the system itself actually takes a second to think about what they’re doing because they place actual value on their lives. Police brutality falls into the same category as this. Nothing has changed over the years at all and it’s a shame that so many people of other races choose to turn their heads and even deny the problems that black people often complain about. Some even argue it and get defensive. Why? I’ll never know.

I’m only on the first episode, and it’s extremely hard to watch. I had no idea that this event happened. So terrible, I feel bad for the young boys.

Incredibly powerful.. but I actually learned about this when I was a kid! My parents told me about it and gave me some news paper articles to read.. it was so sad and that movie really got me in my feelings..
