Yes, you do need to leave or ask him to seek counseling. I was in a terrible relationship for 8 years and this is exactly how the abuse started. Sadly, I did not leave until it was too late and he was being physical in front of the kids. Threw me down the stairs and all I remember was the kids crying over me when I woke up, I left with the kids the next day while he was at work. It so hard to leave, but your kids need to be in a better environment and should not be around that, even if it is verbal right now. To this day I wish I would have left when it started!
