How long you visit your Parents for? Or think is the right time

Just wondering because my husband says 2.5 hrs is what we should do

I live a few hours away from my parents so when I see them it’s typically for a whole day or weekend at a time. And I like it that way, I miss them and like to have time to catch up.

I mean that depends. Our parents currently live 10hours away from us so we visit them every 2-3 months for like 3-4 days. Otherwise, maybe once, twice a week for an hour or two?

Edit: we used to go 4x a week but my husband thinks it’s a lot bc they live about 20 min and now we will be doing 3x a week

We're actually quite all over her show on this. We've visited for like 30 minutes to about six hours. It really just depends on who we are visiting (my parents are divorced), how long it's been since we last saw them and if it's just a plain visit or if we're dropping off/ collecting something.

They’re about 2 hours away from us so it’s usually a night or the whole weekend

My parents live a 12 hour drive away and my in-laws live a 19 hour drive away so when we visit it's usually for a week or so

I think it depends on the day and what other plans you may have. I would say 1.5-2 hours is a good amount of time for a visit. If you want to do a quick visit about an hour. 
If we go to my parents house for dinner we are normally there for about 3 hours or so.
