How vocal is your baby?

My little guy is 8 weeks old today and doesn’t make that many sounds. I keep reading others say their babies having cooing and giggling by now. He gives me some coos and grunts but he hasn’t laughed or giggled yet and he’s very stingy with his smiles. He smiles but they’re pretty few and far between. Not sure if that’s something to be worried about or not. I was wondering how your little ones interactions been?

Haha my son is 7 weeks and pretty much the exact same. 
I think it’s fine. We still have several more weeks on the time line for them to start responding to smiles and laughing

That sounds about normal. Babies don’t really giggle until about 4 months of age. People are probably mistaking other happy sounds for laughter :) x

I agree worth the happy sounds opposed to laughter and giggling. My girl is 11w and she pretty vocal during tummy time, diaper changes and when she’s being held.

My little prince is very vocal when he is being engaged. It seems that his vocals are blossoming as well. Like I can see him trying to make new sounds and watching my mouth. Just remember that they all do things on their own timeline. He cant roll over, grab things or do much tummy time yet but he does try to talk. Haha.

My daughter has been making sounds since she was about 6 weeks she is almost 8 now she smiles giggles and try’s to talk so much

My daughter started cooing and smiling/laughing sounds around 10weeks so still early for your LO some babies just do it sooner but in their 2nd month is when they start making sounds usually some even 3rd month.

The only time my son smiles or is vocal is when he's pooping or spitting up. 🙃 he will be 8 weeks on Wednesday.
