4.5 month old refusing bottle

My son has been refusing his bottles and barely eating the last few days. He’s been formula fed since he was one month old so it’s not like he wants my breast. He has a minor ear infection and has been sick so I was just contributing it to that. But he’s treating the bottle like a toy. He gets very excited to see it and pulls it toward his mouth and will sometimes suck on it for a second or bite on the nipple and then push it away and repeat. When he does eat I can only get at most 4 oz in him and he was taking 8 oz bottles 4-5 times a day before this. His daily intake has dropped by 10 oz. I don’t know what’s going on and his pediatrician won’t see him until his antibiotics are done which isn’t for another 8 days 😫
