How long is the right time to wait in a relationship before making the commitment of moving in together?

I’ve been in a relationship for a year and 5 months and we always talk about moving in one day and I just wanted to know how long some people dated before moving in

My now husband and I were living together 7 months into our relationship but that's because we were in high school and his dad kicked him out of the house. His mom lives over an hour away and we only had a month left of high school so my parents let him move into our basement so he could finish out the school year and graduate. He lived with my parents and I for 6 months until we got our own apartment after 13 months of being together.

Personally, marriage. 
My husband and I dated for 4 years, we didn’t do anything sexual, we didn’t have sex, we didn’t sleep at each other’s homes. 
After marriage, we moved in together. I personally didn’t believe in moving in until after marriage. It was the best choice for me ❤️

We were together 10 months before we moved in together. You will really get to know him when you do. I am at my wits end with my SO because he is such a slob. Was never like that before we moved in together

It depends on where you are in life. I moved in after 2 years dating. I had wanted to finish college first, which I did. If I were in the same situation now I may have considered moving in earlier if I felt the connection and timing was right. It really depends on the people and their relationship. For me, I wanted to be absolutely sure I was making the right move and at the right time for me.

We started talking about moving in together at the year mark. We were both living with roommates at the time. Took us about 6 months to find a place that would allow a pit bull. I pretty much was living at his apartment though by 6 months. We then got engaged just before the 2 year mark. I was clear before moving in I wasn’t just playing house and hoped this was a step towards marriage.
