PPD Rant

Denise

When a new mother complains, so many people jump to throw the term PPD around. Being sad isn't always a clinical disorder that requires medication. Sometimes it just means you are a human in a shitty situation without enough support. It's normal to be sad sometimes. I understand that PPD is real and awareness is good. But it's also normal to be sad sometimes or struggle through a new transition. There's a difference and only a real doctor (& a good one) can tell you if you have PPD, not random people in a forum. Let's not say we have a disorder for having normal human emotions. Or are mothers not allowed to have those anymore?
