How do I get a prescription for Zoloft or Paxil?

I have bad anxiety and have been going to therapy but have been thinking of going to a separate doctor to get a prescription. Do I have to go anywhere special or could I go to a walk in clinic? Also, my insurance only covers 40%, so how much would I have to pay out of pocket? 
** also if you have any suggestions for a med I should look at let me know pls ❤️

You need to go to your regular doctor for this. As far as the cost I'm not sure. But just let them know that therapy isn't helping, but be sure to talk to your therapist about it first. They may give you a recommendation or possibly the prescription.

Ask your therapist. Mine referred me to a few different psychiatrists but I ended up going to my family doctor and I got a prescription there. It wasn’t an anxiety med, but I know people can get them there. Though my doctor told me they are trying to get away from doing those sort of evaluations and encouraged me to see a psychiatrist. What you pay really depends on a lot of different factors. With medication, getting the right med and dosage can take a while so it’s really just trial and error with what works for you.
