My boyfriend is addicted to memes, and every time he sees his friends he gets more and more addicted. He only speaks in memes even in serious situations. Yesterday we argued and he just said “pikachu meme face.” One time be stubbed his toe on his closet door and he just shouted “bad luck Brian.” He dresses up with his friends in costumes from the meme The Boys and asked me to start calling him Keanu. It’s literally the only way he communicates now, he doesn’t even speak full on sentences anymore. He loses his ability to articulate more and more every day. I love him so much but I’m questioning our future together if this keeps happening. I confronted him about it and he told me I just don’t understand internet culture and called me a “weeb.”if anyone else has experienced this please give me advice, he really needs an intervention and some help to get his head out of the memes. 😢
