Does anyone know what the concern is with taking allergy medication while nursing? Is it because it could effect supply or because of medication going into the milk and to baby? My two year old is still nursing on demand and I’m having the worst allergies, non stop itchy skin if I’m outside at all so I tried a Claritin 24 hour (non drowsy) and it worked amazing! But it says to not take if you’re breastfeeding or pregnant, I had to risk it yesterday for an outdoor wedding. If it’s an issue with my supply I’m not worried about that at all but I don’t want to be passing it onto my son through my milk if that’s the concern. Thoughts? Or other things I can try? Even if I shower right after being outside my arms, hands, face and legs feel like I have hundreds of ants crawling all over me!
