Overweight & Pregnant

Healthy BMI: 18.5-24.9

Overweight: 25-29.9

Obese: 30+

Prior to pregnancy I was sitting at a BMI of 27, and visibly overweight. Since pregnancy has begun (16w) I’ve basically maintained my weight.

I have increased my exercise (low impact), and I eat foods that are nutrient dense & never eat less than 2000 cal per day. I feel better about my choices now, but I’m worried that I should be gaining weight.

Since I started my pregnancy already overweight, would there be any risks in gaining only a minimal amount of weight leading up to the birth?

Disclaimer: I will absolutely be talking to my doctor about this, I just like hearing about what everyone is going through, and see differing opinions.
