How much blood is too much?

I discovered I was miscarrying in the ER last night 😢 i was 13 weeks. not too long later, I started bleeding heavy and clotting. I put on a maxi pad and tried to get some sleep since we spent all of the night in the ER. I feel asleep for just barely an hour and woke up with all of it soaked through. Am I bleeding too much?

I was told that if you soak through two pads in two hours to go in. 
That said - when I miscarried - I bled so much each time I went to he toilet- so many clots too. But after a few hours it eased and stopped. I didn't bleed much when sitting though - only on the toilet so I couldn't judge how many pads I'd used. 
You're body knows what it is doing and essentially you go through labour to deliver everything over a few hours. But if you feel faint or dizzy, or had low iron prior - don't wait to go in

When I was miscarrying, I went through extra heavy over night pads in literally 5 minutes. I was just pouring blood and I thought I was dying but I went to the hospital because they said if I went through two pads in an hour to go. Then they just told me that it was a natural part of miscarriage so there was no reason to come in. I was 11 weeks at the time

If you’re going through a pad an hour or clots bigger than a hard boiled egg, call your OB.
