Probably nothing... But what does brown discharge mean or a contraction really feel like?

Ok I haven't had braxton hicks really I think maybe before with mild tightening but not like this. My whole stomach tighten for well over a minute probably more like 5 minutes and with mild pain, mostly on the sides and then some mild pressure in my pelvic area.

Then went to the bathroom and had very little brown discharge.

I'm 38 weeks 3 days. Hoping it means something but I'm a first time mom not sure what it all means.

I did get checked for dilation earlier as well.
