Did you NEED a bassinet?

16 days until pur due date and I realized we don't have a bassinet yet, just a crib. Did you get one and not use it? How long did you use it for? What are the pros/cons? I've heard both ways.

We used ours for 4m with our first then transitioned to bed. We will be doing the same this time. It’s also great for naps and in different rooms. Can also be brought outside on the porch too

We are currently in a small space and have the crib set up in our room, so no bassinet needed!

You should only get one if baby is staying in your room short term and then transferring to its own room.  But if you want baby near by longer (we plan on one year) then I wouldn’t buy one. You can always put the crib up next to your bed. You can skip transitioning and baby wont outgrow it for a good while

I used a bassinet with my first because I had a C section and it was so much easier to push the baby around while I got things done around the house, even if I had to use the bathroom or shower.

Not planning on using one. We don’t have the space. Crib only for us.

I had a c section so the not bending all the way down in the crib and not having to move as much was great with the bassinet. They don’t fit in them for long, only a couple of months. I wouldn’t say it’s necessary if you have a traditional birth.

I bought a pack n play and plan on using that instead of a bassinet
