My July baby became a June baby!

Carlee

I will try to make this a quick story. I went to my normal NST appointment at 37+3 on June 17th to be instructed by my Dr. that it is probably best to induce due to elevated blood pressure the past 2 appointments and my gestational diabetes. Needless to say as a FTM I was in shock that I was going to be meeting my little man so soon! I went to labor and delivery to get the process started. They started cytotec at 4pm on Monday and was able to break my water at 7am on Tuesday. I had originally thought I would be able to all natural, but that didnt happen! Instead I opted for the epidural about 4pm on Tuesday. It was the best choice I made. I was finally able to relax and labor progressed much easier after that. By 4am on Wednesday morning I was pushing away and he made his way into this world at 6:07am on 6/19/19 at 37+5. It really was an amazing process and I had the best Dr. and Nurse team!

After delivery he had low blood sugar and we had to fight that for the first two days but it resolved on it's own. Then we found out he had jaundice and we had to stay longer at the hospital to treat him with light therapy. We were finally release from the hospital at 10pm on Friday.

It may have been a 5 day hospital stay but we were able to bring home the most precious thing in the world to me. I did not realize how attached you can get to someone so quickly!
