Would/do you allow your children under 2 to watch tv?

I dont think my son would be as smart without tv to be honest. But at the same time he never watches by himself. Always make sure to interact with him as we watch together and ask him questions about what he’s watching. Always educational programming. Hes about to be 3 in September and he knows how to count until 30, can say his ABCs and knows what sound each letter makes, can tell you specific facts about animals etc. As long as they arent sitting in front of the tv like a zombie its quite beneficial in my opinion

I honestly don’t see why not. I know parenting is different for everyone, I will limit the tv time though. My childhood didn’t revolve around electronics much & I loved it, I want my kids to experience the same.

My daughter is 16 months, she watches TV every morning and late evening. She’s actually learned quite a few words from the TV. Every family is different, but I don’t think screen time has to be all bad. She enjoys it, not to mention it’s not so bad for me either to be able to sit down and relax or get things done! That being said, I don’t allow her to have a tablet or iPad and won’t for a while.

No because of all the research out there on the negative side effects. We did no screen time under two for both of our kids.

Sure! Tv isn’t all bad. There are plenty of education children shows. Some kids learned how to speak little Spanish by watching Dora lmao. I watched tv and played with toys and played outside. I think a balance is good. Even at a very young age like 2. My nephew loves veggie tales!

I see nothing wrong with any child watching tv it what u let them watch is should be concerned about. There lots of learning shows out there and to be truthful tv comes in handy sometime when ur trying to do things without ur child up ur butt lol. My son learned his letters and very interesting in lesrning to spell cuz of super why

Yes I do. I mean I don’t plant my kids in front of the tv all day, but a little tv isn’t bad. Yes there are suggest that suggest negative effects of screen time but those studies are usually correlation and not causation. Also there are many other factors that contribute to things like learning issues and behavioral problems—screen time, alone, is not the cause. A lot of it is genetics too.
My son is 14 and I let him watch tv when he was a baby. He’s super smart and no behavioral issues. And now there’s so many educational baby shows like Little Baby Bum, Word Party, etc. 
balance the screen time out with reading books and educational play toys if you feel guilty about screen time lol
