I am just over 8 weeks pregnant and I started managing a small retail store 4 months ago. I tend to work alone and haven't seen my boss (area manager) in about 2 months.

I was planning to tell him once I've been here for 6 months but the problem is I'm VERY noticeably pregnant. I'm running an event this weekend and while my boss won't be there, two of his colleagues will be. I don't know if they'd say anything to him as one doesn't know me that well and one I'm close enough to that I think if I asked him not to say anything until I do, he wouldn't.

I'm high risk so I also have restrictions that do affect my job - it's athletic based so I'm meant to teach clinics (on running) but I can't, can't participate in any runs or lift any of our heavy stock. My husband thinks it's best for them to know so they don't think I'm just not doing certain aspects of my job. One of my staff is aware and he's been amazing at helping me cover everything.

My biggest issue is that if I tell my boss now, it would have to be over the phone or through email. What would you guys do?
