Another baby?

Question

My son will be 2 on Oct 26th. I really want to try for another baby. I’m trying to wait because I am scared to have one. I don’t want my son to get jealous or feel left out since he is very much a mommas boy. He’s so attached to me and is never around other kids besides the park. When he sees them at the park he doesn’t really know what to do. So I don’t know how he would be with another baby and sharing ME. I was thinking trying now and until Sept. or wait next year and start trying May-Sept.

How did your older little one/ones do with them?
I’ve always wanted to have two kids, and for them to be around 3 years apart. My husband wanted to start trying a few months ago but quickly changed his mind.

My daughter will be 2 on Oct 14th and I am due with my second in 3 weeks😅
It makes me kinda sad to know that she won’t really understand what’s fully going on. However, no one will ever be able to give her as much attention as she’s gotten from me these past 20 months. That’s life. I’m glad that she will grow up with a buddy for life & that she will learn valuable lessons that having a sibling will teach her. I am a little nervous about having two babies in diapers...  but it’ll be a short season haha. 
On the flip side, my brother and I are 3 yrs apart (like what you mentioned you wanted). My mom said it was a blessing because my brother was old enough to be in preschool at the time I was born, so it allowed her to bond with me. She also said it was hard because my brother was fully aware that there was a new human taking my mom’s attention and he regressed in a lot of ways & was really mean to me at first. I obviously don’t remember that, but I know it was stressful on my mom at the time. 
Every age gap has its pros & cons. Thankfully, you won’t know any differently :). Good luck!

I’m 8 days pp and luckily my family has stepped up and taken my son for a majority of it so I can rest and recover with my daughter.  That being said I don’t have much advice. But I did have ALOT of guilt being pregnant. My son is so active and with me all day, but I was so sore from the get go I couldn’t play with him on the floor, or do anything really with out my back hurting majorly. I feel like I’ve let him down the past 9 months. But a nurse reminded me, he WONT remember that. So it’s made me feel a little better. I think all age gaps have pros and cons. I stuck with the “smaller the age gap, the less they’ll remember” theory. But, if one more person says “ohhh you’re going to be busy” when they hear my kids age gap of 20 months I’m going to kick them in the shin 😉

I was so worried with how my son will be when the new baby comes but so far (she’s 2 weeks) he has been great so far. He wakes up saying “baby” and runs to her room to see her. When she cries he runs to her and watches her, watches her being changed, bathed, gives her the pacifier. When I’m burping her he taps her back lightly, always touches her hair and puts his head against her head. It’s so cute. I felt so guilty when I was pregnant and was scared that he will be jealous but he surprised me. Every time I’m not with her I try to give him as much attention as I can and always talk to him when I’m feeding her etc.

My boys are 18.5 month apart. My oldest who’s now 20 months, has been VERY sweet to his baby brother. (He’s actually very good with all kids and shares well). He gives Lots of hugs and kisses to the baby. He does however have a hard time with me since I’m holding the baby so much and have to breastfeed all of the time. Minor jealousy. There’s been a lot of toys flung at my head ☹️. I’m lucky that my husband is super hands on and spends a lot of time with him and loves on him. Also the more one on one time I spend with my oldest the better things have become. No mistake, Its hard juggling both but at the end of the day it will be worth it because they will have a lifelong playmate.

I definitely feel the same baby girl will be 2 October 15th and were due with baby #2 in early February! Hopefully she’ll adapt with a new baby around 🤞🏽 she’s seems very interested in helping with all the babies she’s seen. Lol she even tries to feed and change her baby dolls diapers

I’m about to have one and my daughter is 20 months. It’s going to be hard, but she’ll be ok in the end, and then I can send them off to school at around the same time and they’ll be fine. I know children will have a learning curve, but they’ll be fine!!

I have my little boy and an almost 3 month old big brother LOVES “baby” every morning he wakes up saying baby and gives him hugs and everything! They are a year and a half apart! I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

That is true about the school thing. They don’t go to preschool until 4 here but even if I had one when he is 3, that’s not a long time! Also I’m hoping to have him potty trained before than too 🤞🏻 so that means no diapers for him. I keep convincing myself to wait to start trying until next year but then the baby fever has been crazy lately 😂

I feel the exact same way. I want to start trying but I dont want my daughter to feel like I'm ignoring her when baby 2 comes. 
Me and my husband have decided to wait a little longer to start trying more so for the reason of her being little so maybe when she actually does start preschool maybe. But I know that when baby 2 comes she will love him/her and will be happy to be a big sister.
