Blood pressure?

So at the my doc appointment the other day she took my blood pressure (I’m 17 weeks) and it was 111/54... to my knowledge an average resting bp is 120/80 but she didn’t tell me it was low. She took a long time to check it and honestly haven’t had this nurse before so it was odd it took her so long to calculate it. Even my mom (a nurse) said that was low... I’m just wondering if I should have said something to my doctor

That BP is just fine. When you’re pregnant, usually in the second trimester, it does lower.

That’s actually a great blood pressure! A systolic of 90 or lower is considered a low bp. They are actually in the works at the moment to lower the average/healthy bp to 110/70

If you are asymptomatic then low blood pressure is not a concern. And in the second trimester your blood pressure actually tends to be lower

That’s a perfect blood pressure! My blood pressure is always about that, and they always tell me its perfect, not low at all!

That’s perfect! When you are pregnant, you have more blood volume and your arteries are vasodilated, meaning wider. Naturally, your pressure gets lower. The lowest I’ve been was at 20 weeks when I was 90/63 and even then, the OB wasn’t worried. Totally normal mama.

My blood pressure is normally anywhere from 100/75 to 115/80. My OB was happy it stayed in that range for the majority of my pregnancy. Only toward the end was it higher in the 120 range. I don't think that you should be concerned.

Well systolic wasn’t bad at all I was more worried about dystolic... I’ve never been as low as a 54. I studied it a little bit in college but not enough to know what is the cause of high and low dystolic
