Do we need a bassinet?

Question

How long do you actually use them for?  They seem so expensive considering they  could just sleep in the crib right?  I’m a first time mom so please educate me!

I’m doing a PackNPlay with a top insert so the baby can sleep next to me when newborn. Then we’ll have it for when we go on trips/outside, the baby can play in it.

I'm only getting a bassinet because my room isn't big enough for a crib. If you can fit a crib in your room, I'd say go for it. Then use the pack n play where you spend most of your day (living, dining, study, etc).
I only say this because the first few months I like them by my side constantly. I'm a huge worrier for SIDS so I keep them around me until they outgrow their bassinet and I feel like they're a little bit bigger and safer. I know it's all in my head but that's just the way I feel about it. I sleep better knowing they're next to me those first few months.

We only used it for 4 months because my daughter was too long by then, but it was definitely nice to have her right next to me for those 4 months!

We used an Arms Reach for the first 4 months. Then he went to a crib til 1 and now he’s in a big boy bed bc he spins in his sleep.

FTM but I’m going with the fact that even if she decides to sleep in a bassinet, they only hold until they start rolling over and crawling and at that point in my opinion aren’t safe anymore. So I’m going with the pack n play as well with a top attachment acting as a bassinet.

We used one for about the first 3-4 months. Id buy one off fb marketplace or used unless you plan on having more kids and will use it again. 🙂 I have the halo bassinet.

I have a small 1-bedroom apartment. Needless to say, there is no space for a nursery. I do not have space (or money) for both bassinett & crib. I plan on getting a convertible crib, that has adjustable mattress heights for bassinnet, crib, and then toddler bed.

Nope, we use the crib right away and baby is right beside the bed. I usually fall asleep while nursing so there is a lot of co-sleeping also.

We used a pack and play until our first was about 4mo old then she moved to the crib, and her 2nd birthday marked the move to the toddler bed(she’s a monkey and was literally climbing out of the crib...)
