So disappointed with my husnand...a cop!
I am just so pissed, I have to vent somewhere. I even drew a little diagram of the situation lol
So last night, we went to pick up pizza, the pizza shop is a bit to the right of the store shown below. The grey is the parking lot area/little side road. The black is a busy main road.
So we leave the shop and start heading home (practically across the street), my husband is the one driving. Once we get to point (A), I look over and see two cars (white rectangles) and a man and woman standing in between them (orange dots). The woman has her back up against one of the cars, and the man has his hand straight out holding her throat. I freak out and get my husband's attention. By the time he looks over, he had pulled up some and could not see them very well. So we turn the corner and when we get to point (B) I look back and now the man has both hands around her neck.
I tell my husband he needs to do something. He just keeps driving. He starts pulling into our neighborhood and I'm still freaking out on him. He asked if I wanted him to turn around, I said he needs to at least call someone. I mean, there was an officer sitting on that main road, stopped at a red light. I would have called the cops myself, but I had boxes of pizza on my lap and couldn't get to my phone. Plus, because my husband is an officer, he is able to get ahold of other officers on duty easily and get them over there quicker than just calling 911.
So he casually turns around in our neighborhood and starts heading back that way. He said we will drive passed again and if they are still out there, then he will call someone. I am in complete disbelief! The man had his hand around a woman's neck, and pushing her up against a car! So when we drove passed again, they were gone and there was a different man walking away from that area (blue dot). My husband was like "see, everything is fine. They're gone." And I'm like "yeah, probably because of that guy right there. He probably saw what was happening and stopped it. You're a cop, damn it!" He said, "yeah, I'm a cop, so I know that everything is not as it seems. It probably wasn't what it looked like."
First of all, I can't think of any scenario that would make what I saw okay. Secondly, if it wasn't what it seemed, then if a cop showed up and questioned them, there would be no problem. Better safe than sorry. It's not like we live in a crazy dangerous area and officers have better things to do than check out a woman possibly being strangled. Most cops in our area spend the whole day just driving around aimlessly and maybe pull someone over for speeding.
I am so disappointed in him and the way he handled this situation.
